Personnel Committee endorses Marinelli for Parks and Recreation Commission
MARLBOROUGH — March 16, 2026 — Marlborough's Personnel Committee unanimously advanced Colleen F. Marinelli to the Parks and Recreation Commission. The committee endorsed the three-year appointment, set to expire Feb. 28, 2029, at its March 16 meeting and sent it to the full City Council for final approval. Mayor Christian Dumas, in a letter read at the hearing, cited Marinelli's work founding the city's Youth Track program and said she was "highly recommended" by Recreation Director Chuck Thibodeau. Marinelli would succeed Mark Vidal, who is leaving the commission after 14 years in the seat he first took in 2012. Councilor Navin made the motion to approve, telling Marinelli the commission was looking ahead to "a lot of potential new ideas" for the coming season; Councilor Doucette also endorsed the appointment after questioning Marinelli about her technology-sector background.
